My Galaxy S8 suddenly stopped recognizing the microSD card mid-video the other night. When I put the microSD into my laptop or desktop, they see it just fine, although there are "errors."

I backed the card up and used the option to fix the errors. It said there were no errors.

I right clicked on the drive and tried to format. The format was unsuccessful.

I used the Computer Management tool to format. It says the format worked, but ALL of the information is still on the card. Nary a single 1 nor 0 was erased.

I used the Command Prompt and Diskpart to format. It says the format worked, but ALL of the information is still on the card. Every file, every folder, intact and unharmed.

I used the Drive Wipe feature in CCleaner to wipe the card. It says the wipe worked, but ALL of the information is still on the blah blah blah you get the point.

What in all holy hell is it going to take to format and (hopefully) get this card working in my phone again? Short of feeding it into a paper shredder, I've done everything I can think of to get it back into a blank state.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

No good. The phone does see that the SD card is in there, but it's corrupted, so it offers to format. It says that the format was successful, but IMMEDIATELY the icon shows up in the notification tray that the SD card is corrupt, tap here to format.

Wash, rinse, repeat.
