I had a 1 TB ps4 but i bought an external storage of 1 TB for my ps4, but then i had to sell my ps4 and i kept the external storage, but now that i bought another ps4, i tried connecting the external storage and tried to play assassins creed but it keeps saying, "Cannot start the application. The data is corrupted. Delete the application from the ps4 and insert the disc again." What should I do, i dont want to lose all my data and start all over.

You may have disconnected it improperly from your previous PS4. This from Sony support:

How to Disconnect Extended Storage
When you want to disconnect an extended storage device while your PS4 system is on, use one of the following methods to ensure the safe removal of the device.

Reminder: If you disconnect the extended storage device without using the steps below, when you reconnect the storage device it may cause corruption or loss of data.
Select [Sound/Devices] > [Stop Using Extended Storage] on the quick menu.
