Corsair 100Hi link caught fire?

Saw this on Craigslist today: https://forums.craigslist.org/?ID=267957151

When I powered up my computer I heard an electrical snapping sound and seconds later my Corsair H100i power connection burst into flames. Good thing I had the side off of the case. It was a relief after removing the H100i and installing a stock cooler everything was still working fine.

Interesting, but probably unusual.

Well, there a first time for everything I suppose... I have never heard of the corsair link cable "bursting into flames" (I think it shorted and they are over exaggerating) but still.
