400c
- Better cooling, has more openings space for airflow
- Doesn't look like a boxy dishwashing device
- Slightly more compact
- Top, front and rear radiator support. Push/pull for front radiator
- Still manages to be a touch smaller than s340 Elite
x Cable management fairly cramped, there's little to no space in front of a modular PSU
x Front dust filter can only be accessed by removing the front panel cover, which has six plastic "tabs" (three on each side) that can only be accessed by opening both side panels
x PSU shroud only has several millimeters of space between motherboard and and PSU, and can be a bit of a pain to take off/put back
x Cable management in general is cramped everywhere in the secondary chamber
x Few options to run RGB strip lights in case, only the front sides are open, bottom is not an option and the top has very little space
s340 Elite
- Best case to support VR on the market, has a pass-through hole from the GPU HDMI to the front VR HDMI/USBs
- Superior cable management with two "lanes" to run cables and several included plastic tie-downs on both "lanes", one of the best you can find on the market, hands down
- Plenty of space for cable management in front of a modular PSU
- SSD mounts to show off your gear
- Dat glass
- Numerous options to run RGB strip lights on top, sides and bottom of case
- Front dust filter just as easy to access as bottom PSU dust filter
- Overall best price for tempered glass and superior build quality on the market
x Looks way too boxy and boring (my personal preference)
x NZXT cable shroud prevents push/pull configurations for any radiator or custom water pump
x Only supports front radiator or rear radiator
x Only space for one top fan mount, not a big deal but runs a tad hotter that the 400c open filtered top
x No dust filter for the top vent
x No rubber padding or vibration for hard drive caddy
x One hard drive caddy cannot be used if you intend to run cables to an SSD on the lower front SSD mount. There is another cutout, but your SSD will look upside down if you don't route cables through the hard drive caddy
x Still manages to be a touch larger than the 400c
Personally I have a ton of Corsair stuff a Corsair RGB mechanical keyboard, RGB mouse, CPU AIO, Vengeance LED Ram and several Corsair MagLev LED fans. So for me the 400c was a must for branding consistency, allowed my push/pull configuration on my AIO, looked less boxy, and the PSU shroud was easy to paint my own custom designs onto. My one true gripe with the 400c is the ****ing lack of easy access to the front dust filter. The second gripe (though a fairly mino gripe) would be the limited space for cable management.
Overall I still feel the s340 Elite is a slightly better case for the value. It costs the same as Corsair's already fairly high asking price for acrylic, will shave off over 20 minutes of cable routing, is built like a tank, and DAT GLASS! The glass is slightly more resistant to scratching than acrylic and something about it just screams premium luxury and shows off your gear porn just as well as the 400c.
Both cases have minor quirks and now that NZXT has RGB AIOs that perform amazing and very quiet,
and NZXT are gradually expanding their in-house product, line there's potential to do more of a full system build with branding consistency. That is...if branding consistency matters to you, which I assume might since these cases are designed purely for aesthetics and performance.
