Hi all

I plan on building my first custom loop next year and some questions regarding the Corsair 750d case.

1. Can you fit a 360mm radiator in the top without removing the drive bays?
2. What is the maximum thickness supported in the top?
3. Can a 280mm radiator be installed in the front? (EK's configurator only shows 240s)
4. How do you mount a pump reservoir combo?

1. Yes but you will not be able to use the top 5,25" bay (it can even hold an 420mm rad with a small modification.)
2. The max clearance in the top is 85mm if I recall correct. But I would not go thicker than 45mm radiator (not including the fans) just to be on the safe side.
3. Yes you can fit a 280mm infront but keep in mind that radiator will be starved of air since the front plate is pretty restrictive.
4. Either buy a pre-built combo or build it yourself. To build it yourself you need: Pump, Pump cover, Pump top and a Reservoir

I have a custom loop in my 750.

1)Some 360 rads will fit, but not all. The hole spacing is really tight to the edges of the 5.25" cage. Pretty sure the performance EK rads will fit but you might struggle with the thicker extreme rads. You may also lose the second 5.25 bay for fittings and plumbing.
2)would have to measure...
3)The "750D airflow" has a more open front. You could potentially put a 240 in the bottom which is more open.
4)I used the EK vertical mount that comes in their kit. Only downside there is you are limited to their 140 res tube length. You may want to consider separating the pump and res to give yourself some different options.

Other notes:
The thing is friggin heavy when filled with water. I have a single 280 rad cooling a 1070strix and 6600k and it's a pain in the back (literally) to get bubbles out. Dual rads will make it worse. I highly suggest you pay close attention to your layout to make it easier to fill and drain. If you haven't built a loop before, don't plug in the speed control from a D5 pump to the motherboard. If you do it'll only run 30% and wont have enough head pressure to get the fluid up to the rad at the top. If the speed control isn't plugged in it'll run full power and should fill easily. This might be common knowledge but I struggled with it and couldn't find it listed anywhere.

Don't use Primochill Vue. I'm so disappointed in that stuff. It looks cool for about 6 weeks and then in the course of a week it fell out and pinked my tubes (used the "blood red" Vue). I've gotta replace them all and clean my blocks. Might not have happened with PETG or glass, but didn't want to go that route for my first build.

I have the 750D

Most people forget about the bottom of the case. It can fit a 240mm radiator down there, only issue is if you care about mixing 120 and 140mm fans and if you use the 3.5" drive bays. I took mine out because I only have SSD's and the 750 has the nifty little 2.5" slots on the back.

So without compromising on cooling or encroaching on the 5.25" bays you could have two 280mm rads front/top and a 240mm rad on the bottom, you could even use the rear fan as an intake and use the rads to exhaust. If everything is on a loop there won't be much heating up in the case to affect the airflow so why not?

And yes the front of the case should hold a 280mm rad. If not, they are lying because the holes drilled and marked there clearly identify 120 and 140mm holes that DO NOT have threading and won't hold fans by themselves.

Thanks for your answer. I should've probably expand on what I said orginally so I shall.

1. I have seen that people have been able to fit 420mm rads in the top mount but I'm unsure as to what the exact mod is.

2. Based on what you've said and looking at other builds I reckon a 45mm thick rad is the best bet.

3. I probably should of said that I have the 750d Airflow Edition which has a ventilated front grille which is less restrictive.

4. I have looked at both parts and kits. My question was how do you mount the reservoir in the case i.e do you need to drill holes or does the case have mounting holes already?

1. Depending on the radiator you have to do one out of two things. If the rad is slim enough all you need to do is to bend and flatten the wings in the 5,25" bay or you need to remove the bay all togetter by drilling out the pop rivets. Doing the last thing lets you fit what ever 420mm rad you want just the thickness is the limiting factor.

2. I agree.

3. Well then there is no problem with mounting a rad in the front.

4. Since you want to mount a rad in the front then get a bracket like this one of this ones: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/reservoirs/accessories-spare-parts/mounting-mechanisms

What you do then is mount the Rad + fans + pump / res combo togetter as one unit. Here is an example and scroll to time 3:27 in the video and there you will see what I mean. The brackets you see him uses is his own that you also can buy but they are expencive.
