Hey forum.

My new Corsair 900D have some crazy vibration problems. You can hear the vibration humming coming and going all the time and its driving me nuts. Took me awhile to find out it was the vibration noise coming from the case.

The vibration seems to be coming from my two hhd´s installed in the bottom but it kinda travels through the case and its worst in the front top holder for optic drives and the side panel. If I take the side panels off the sound gets alot better but its still there. I have been able to lower it with some sound isolation material, but it kinda kills the look of my build and I really want the sound entirely gone (invested in alot of quiet noctua fans for a silent build, perhabs the 900d was not the case for that?).

I have done all the leg work of swapping the drives, bays, making sure its all in proberly and tightened. I cant really be without my hdd´s at this moment and buying ssd´s to get the same amount of space is not in my budget.

Does anyone have experience with this problem in the 900D?, and I will be more than happy for any help on tips and tricks I could try.

Few things to try.

Switch the 7200 RPM HDDs to a 5400 RPM HDDs.

You can use the rubber grommets to mount your HDDs to reduce the vibration they transfer to the case. It also lowers the noise made due to the vibrations.

I take it that you've mounted your HDDs close to each other. E.g in the same HDD cage.
Since your super-tower has 3 HDD cages, try mounting your HDDs further apart, so that they don't amplify the vibrations when mounted so close together. E.g each HDD in it's own HDD cage.

Thx alot for the suggestions! I will give it a try. I will be very disappointed if I cant use 7200 RPM HDDs in this case without those vibrations, since they did cost alot and are almost new. My old case, enermax fulmo gt big tower, didnt have any problems with 4 older HDDs in it at 7200 RPM.

How are you mounting your HDDs? My 750D's hard drive mounts have 4 individual rubber things to hold the HDD in their trays to block vibrations. I'm surprised that the 900D, a much more expensive case, lacks them.

The trays does come with 4 rubber things to mount the HDD, used them in the beginning. I have now bought new larger rubber screws, but it dosent seem to make it any better. Seems like my HDD days are over for now, getting tired of dealing with it. The 900D was a bad buy for me, first time I ever had problems with case vibrations from HDD and seems like more people have the same problem with the 900D when I look around forums.
