Corsair and Team Vulcan Mix

Ok so I have a corsair 4gb stick that is going to be running at 2400Mhz and have a Team Vulcan 16bg Kit ( 8x2 ) that is stock clocked at 3000Mhz. Now i know that your motherboard will automatically run all the ram at the lowest Mhz out of all of the dims but I do not know if it will make it so that all the sticks are running at 2400 MHZ. I was going to put the Team Vulcan in the same 1 channel and just have the corsair stick in a single channel config. Will this work so that I will basically have 20gb of ram in my system?

If it runs it will be at the lower speed. However mixing RAM is asking for stability problems or at worst the pc won't even boot. Personally I wouldn't bother with the 4Gb, its more trouble than its worth.

Unless you are using seriously high ram usage production software, you'll be hard pressed to even broach 12Gb of system ram usage, never mind 16Gb. 20Gb simply isn't worth the slowdown and single channel usage.
