My last new build was a while ago 2018: i7 8700, 1080 GTX
I prematurely upgraded from a Corsair RM650X to the Corsair AX1000 late 2020 during the pre release hype of the 3080 but after release I couldn't justify the price/performance.
I've just started working on a parts list for a full new system based around Ryzen 7 9800X3D and NVidia 4070 Super. Not much is in stock so taking my time, but have already ordered the 4070 and planned to swap it into my current system for an interim upgrade.
As is typical I'm quite out of the loop on hardware and just getting up to speed, and just found there might be issues with older PSUs and 40 series cards.
First question: I know the Corsair AX1000 is decent quality (made by Seasonic, as I recall), but as it is ATX12V v2.4 I would just like to double check whether it should be ok with the 4070? Presumably the card comes with an appropriate adaptor cable that would suffice?
Second question: Assuming that they can work together, are there any reasons not to bring the AX1000 across to my next full build?
