Hi Folks,

I've just about complete my first self build, and taking delivery of a GTX 780Ti tomorrow, so just wondered about power, I have in the cables bag several PCIe cables for the potential of multi GPUs.

I see some just have a 6 pin connector at each end, so you'd need 2 for one GPU as GPU takes 2 x 6 pin or some take a slightly different confirguration. Some also have one 6 pin for the PSU end and at the other a 6 pin and a spliced addtional 6 pin feeding off same cable for the GPU end.

Does it matter which one you use...single cable with 6 + 2x6 or 2 cables of 6 pin and 6 pin.

Will the GPU take as much power as it needs irrespective of cable configuration ?

Cheers in advance.

Does not really matter what cables you use just as long as you connect both connectors on the card and yes the card will get the power it needs which ever cable you use connecting both connectors.
