Corsair AX1200i dual 6+2 pin PCIe cables

Hi. I just bought the AX1200i and it came with two single PCIe cables that split at the end into two 6+2 pin connectors. The other end is an 8 pin that connects into the power supply. I was just wondering if it's safe to use these on my GTX 670s instead of using separate cables.

I have EXACTLY same question. But I have new AX860 PSU from Corsair. And I am using GTX 980 in SLI so instead of 4 cables I can use just two. What should I do ?
