Dear readers and friends,
I probably am going to ask a silly question (although a wise being always is determined that silly questions don't exist, silly answers do... well I leave at that hehe) but I am going to build a new system in steps since I don't have all the money for it at once.
When I buy this good PSU can you self test it without connecting the PSU itself to the motherboard and other peripherals? I am not very technical but my guts tell me that yes it's very much possible. Just like to be sure.
They say the corsair PSU's have a self test and when the light turns green you're fine and when it's red something is wrong.
I suppose then I could leave the PSU on for an hour or so ( of course no power will be drawn from it yet since it won't be connected for awhile. ) and check for buzzes or other sounds as well?
Any further hints/tips?
