The title pretty much say it. Is the corsair 550TXM a good PSU? I'm replacing my current psu for a higher quality one for my up coming build.

Look at the model number they posted, CMPSU-550TXM. It's a bronze unit that came out ~7 years ago.TXM is a newer line of gold rated PSU's.
Well, they can say whatever they want, guess it's up to you whether you trust them. It sounds like you already bought the PSU though?
A typical power tester tells you very little, basically whether or not the DC outputs are within tolerance at no load.Yes, I already bought it. The seller does have a very good reputation. I can always test the PSU with a power supply tester.

Ah, nevermind then. Looks like either the OP (or the seller) mixed up the model number or Corsair used the same model number for two different PSUs. Which honestly wouldn't surprise me, given their obnoxious habit of using the same/similar names for different PSU lines.
How could you have known it was the Gold unit from the OP's original post?LAike I said a very good PSU. I knew it was the GOLD
