I have a question for choosing a PSU for a new build I will be buying soon. I have got some different suggestions and what to hear what you say.

Here is the rest of the components:

Case: Antec P183

Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D-E LX

CPU: Intel Core i7 860 2.8 Ghz

Memory: 2 x 4GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1333MHz

Disk: 3 x SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 1TB

DVD: Sony NEC Optiarc DVD±RW burner AD-7240S

Graphic board: XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5

I will perhaps to some light overclocking, but nothing advanced. I might add another 8 GB of RAM later. I might also put in another network interface card (Intel Gigabit CT).

I will not use any Crossfire or SLI double graphic cards. The build will not be used for much gaming, mostly work related stuff.

So my question for you is which Power Supply Unit I should buy for this system?

I have got two suggestions, but I am open for other units.

COOLER MASTER SILENT PRO 600W (795 swedish Kr) about $98

CORSAIR VX 550W (895 Kr) ~$110

Which should I get? The links are to a swedish webstore, but you can link to any suitable site you wish.

I am looking for: good quality, low noice and a PSU not too small and not to large.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Take in mind that a quality 450W PSU is more than enough for your system.
Anyway, both units that you have chosen are high quality PSUs. The COOLER MASTER SILENT PRO 600W has been made by Enhance Electronics, and the CORSAIR VX 550 is made by CWT.
Anyway, since the unit from Cooler Master is modular and cheaper, I would go for it.

Thank you for your reply. The "modular" feature, is that something with cable management?

Thanks. So both PSU:s will be enough power for some possible expansion also? And they will both fit in the Antec P183 case?

The modularity seems to be nice of course. It still will be shipped with all the cables needed?
