The simple answer here is in the design of the primary part of the PSU (where your AC power goes in), the CX model can accept input voltages of 100-240 and operate whereas the VS can only operate on 220-240 - that change alone provides cost savings (which is passed to you)

CX series power supplies have better components than VS series power supplies.
CX sries PSU gives a little bit more than they specify.
that means if you have a CX430 PSU and in some case your system consumes more power like 450w or little bit higher then CX430 can handle this situation where as VS series power supply will fail.
CX series is an entry level PSU.
CX series is better than VS series.
thanks for the reply...so should i buy cx 600 or vs 650 ..here vs 650 is cheaper than 600 ..so which one do u prefer?
show me your whole system specs.
Let me check wether do you really need any 600W psu or not.
cpu- i5 760 2.8ghz
motherboard -intel dh55tc
gpu-nvidia gtx 650ti(going to buy)
8gb ram ddr3
Okay,
according to your specs,
550W PSU is good enough for you.
if you have some money to spend then you can go for CX600,
or else 550W is fair enough for your pc.
if you are planning for SLI then CX600 is okay.
