CORSAIR DOMINATOR vs CORSAIR XMS3

I have to decide between the following 2 sets for my upcoming i7 860 build.

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB

What is your suggestion?

Well, the main concern I'd have with the Dominators is how tall they are. If you have a large CPU cooler, sometimes this can create conflicts. Could you list the rest of your build?

Yeah, that was exactly what I was thinking since I was planing to buy a retail cooler in the future. But performance wise, do you see any differences?

Nope, same timing, same speed, only different cooler by the looks of it. Now, it is possible that they put better chips in the Dominator ram, but that is far from certain and changes every day, so it really doesn't help with the decision (and would only effect you if you try to OC it). Both have XMP, so if you have a motherboard that supports it (and they set the profiles correctly) setup should be a breeze.

Is it possible to two different kinds of memory... for example. if you have the corsair XMS3 and the Dominator can you put both on the mother board.

I would not advise that, not sure if it will work. And as much as I want to say that XMS3 is the same as dominators, it is very possible that dominators are made of higher quality material that goes through more testing....etc. Dominators are very good too, hence the name, they dominate.
