[SOLVED] Corsair h100i RGB Platinum Mounting

I bought a used PC that had a H100i RGB platinum Rgb cooler saw that it was overheating. Found out the screws used to mount the CPU block were either too long or not the correct screws. A new mounting kit cost 25$ but I only need 4 small screws. Can I use different ones or do I need to spend the cash?

Get the mounting kit.
If you get 'just 4 small screws' and then crack the motherboard because of a miscalculation... you'd be on your own from there.

Read the manual and see if they state the thread pitch/length of said screws. Then buy exactly matching screws. If not just buy the kit to save yourself a headache.
