I was trying to install the Corsair H100i v2 on an ASUS Z170A motherboard for an Intel 6600k CPU. However, I believe I did not screw in the standoffs properly since the backplate is moving slightly (there is some space between the back of the motherboard and the backplate). I tried to remove the standoff screws but they wouldn't budge. Is there a way for me to remove them without damaging my motherboard?

Also, the thumbscrews that Corsair provided won't screw in all the way on the standoffs that I installed, however they screw in perfectly on the spare standoffs that Corsair provided.

Please help me figure this out as I do not want to leave the build in this state.

did you use the correct standoffs?

there are no spare standoffs there are two different ones for intel the 1151 and one for the 2011 socket, and then a set for amd sockets

almost sounds like you used the wrong standoffs or you have them backwards with the threads for the thumb screws actually screwed into the bracket.

If I did use the wrong standoffs or screwed them in backwards then what can I do to get them out? Should I try using pliers to twist them off?
