Corsair h100i v2 mess up

I have a new build with corsair h100i v2. Put pump on cpu upside down on cpu works fine. WOuld like to straighten in up . Cani just loosen , take off turn, and out back on. OR do i need ot clean oaste off, out new themal paste on , then out pack on. Which steps. X99, 2011-3m if need to know????

You probably could change it without replacing the thermal paste if your careful but IMO its better to clean it off and reapply to ensure a even layer is applied between CPU & heatsink (pump).

Clean off and replace the paste. ALWAYS anytime you remove the cooler.
