Anyone has used any of the AIO from H100/H105 series with Noctua NF F12 Fans ?
I recently bought a system with 7700K and H100i V2. Those Corsair SP120L fans are s**t !! They go loud as jet engine running at full speed, and if I keep a moderate fan curve using the Asus suite, the CPU going upto 75 degree while playing GTA V in 1440p.
I realize firstly, that GTA V is a CPU intensive game and I saw utilization in all cores going to 75%+ max, secondly its hot in here so definitely the room temp is on higher side and thirdly 75 degree on max will not kill my CPU but its just uncomfortable up there.
I'm not considering push-pull since 2-3 degrees isn't worth that much money, but I'm seeing these Noctua F12 3000 RPM fans with massive 7.63 mm H20 static pressure max.
I want to understand how much difference it will make, since these fans are costly (half the price of Corsair H100i V2 for two of these).
So anyone can share their experience with any of the H100 radiators with F12 fans of 2000/3000 RPM would be greatly helpful. Thanks.

Solution
So finally I fixed a few stuff.
It was indeed extra voltage going into CPU, I manually reduced the voltage to 1.220, that's the minimum, it wont start at 1.200 for 4.6GHz.
Increased RAM speed to 2666 MHz from 2400 at same 1.2012V.
(Oh and I could overclock my monitor as well to 75 Hz 😀 )
So the temps while gaming dropped all the way from 77C to just under 70C !!!
I tried 2800 for RAM and it crashed at same voltage. So currently its a stable system with most minimal wattage usage I guess. I love it. Finally I feel happy about my investment. Thank you.
There's no doubting that Noctua make great fans, but those industrial 3000 rpms are going to be just as loud (or louder) @ 43dB to your current Corsairs @ 37dB.

I'd recommend the F12 industrial 2000rpm @ 29dB or the original brown F12 at 22dB over the 3000's.

Is it worth the high cost? That is for you to decide. They are expensive, but have a 6 year warranty.

How much cooler will your CPU run from changing the fans? That is hard to tell. But we are most likely talking single digits here. A combination of things normally gives the best results.

Try some of these alternatives if the temps or noise is still bothering you:
>Set the H110 as an intake.
>Invest in some decent thermal paste and apply an adequate amount.
>Ensure your CPU and pump have a good contact.
>De-dust your rad.
>Dial back an overclock.

I'm sure others will also have ideas also, but bear in mind there are mentions of Kaby Lake running somewhat hotter than previous gen's. Something to keep in mind as your efforts may be in vain.

7700K is running hot due to the crappy thermal paste between the die and heat spreader. Delidding shows an average of 20C difference in same cooling setup.
But I won't do that until I complete a good 3 years without tampering the warranty.
Until then, given the situation, I wan't to understand if it is worth to spend that much on a brand new system or just use headphones and run the damn SP120Ls in full speed or up to 85-90% range to keep things under 70C.

De-lidding is another option, but i tend not to recommend it unless you have the correct tools for a proper go of it.

This said, 75 degrees isn't all that bad. You don't really want to be gaming over 80C day in day out, but 75 is reasonable. I had a 4790K with a Noctua NH-U12S and that was sometimes hitting high seventies in an ITX build. Have a go at some cheaper cooling alternatives first as mentioned, if no luck then grab some used Noctuas on eBay. Just don't expect a huge drop in temps unless you are doing something extreme such as de-lidding. 😀

I hope you have some luck Devlamania!

This is the first time I bought a gaming PC so things are very new to me. Professionally, I'm a programmer, so at least I'm good with HW and SW. Assembled this myself, first time in life, 8 months of saving, each part is at least 15-25% costlier in India than in US but what I could've done.

Anyway, so I've got Asus Strix Z270F, I've got this Asus AI Suite and also control from boot. Looks like they might be interfering with each other, I mean, the settings doesn't sync up.

I increased the fan and pump speed to full from both SW and Boot settings, and was able to achieve 73 degree on package. That's a good drop from 77 which I was hitting on max. I think push/pull might get another 2-3 degrees on top of it.

Right now I'm just trying to figure out how to limit the voltages, I set 1.255 from Asus AI Suite, but in HW Monitor I'm seeing the CPU boosting to 4.6 ghz with 1.35+ volts. If I can run it stable (at least for games) down to 1.25-1.28, I should be seeing under 70C temps. But don't yet know how to do that. I even tried going up to 4.8 GHz, but goes to 1.41 volts and 81C !!!!! DAMN !!!!! I'm happy with 4.6 but just need to know how to "just" reduce the voltage limit from bios or AI Suite keeping the freq same. Cause I'm sure 7700K doesn't need 1.35 volts to run at 4.6 !!

I'm so happy with the Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 I've got, goes to 1987 MHz at ease at around 66C max without changing anything except OC mode + Turbo fan mode. But Intel knows how to cheap out !! Feels bad when you spend your hard earned money on something that's not worthy enough of the price they are asking for.

Good stuff, glad you sorted it. Always feels awesome when you figure something out yourself. :)
