Corsair h100i v2 with non k 8700 i7

Hi newegg had a sweet deal on a h100i v2 cooler $65cnd, has anyone used this combo and does it have good temps? I'm just wanting stable no overclocking obviously, and I play alot of high res gaming.

If you are using a non-k CPU there is only one reason you would ever use a liquid cooler imo. That is aesthetics. The look of the system for me is very important, so I'd understand if you WANT to use that cooler, but it is overkill.
