I just recently built a system with ryzen 5 2600, 1660 super with corsair spec 01 case and have 3 additional 120mm 1500rpm case fans.
My r5 2600 reaches at least 65c on gaming and with more cpu heavy games upto 70c which i know is fine but how much difference will i get changing from stock wraith cooler to an H45? If possible i might push my cpu to 4ghz if i can keep the temps at good level..
Also my ambient temps generally remains 35-40c sometimes upto 42c.

do not bother anything less than H60 your better of with a fan cooler and a H60 is poor compared too fans if you want to water its expensive.
so means i will stick with stock wraith cooler.
Also i wanted to know what does the option of downcore does in bios.
I just couldn't understand but it had options like1+0, 2+0, like these..

I Agree with Rarraf.
The min i would do would be a h80i but @ the prices I just saw for h80i @$115.00 plus it really isn't cost effective.

You would also be limited to a air cooler no taller then 150mm max in that case per Corsair tech specs of the case.

You could go with a Wraith Prism and do pretty good for less money and be able to use the stock amd retention brackets.

You must be in a hot climate for ambient temps to 42C.
Nothing will help your thermals unless you have air con and especially if you want to Overclock.

A H45 is probably less than or no better than the Wraith Cooler so don't bother. You would certainly have better thermals with a twin rad say the Corsair h110i or equivalent if that would fit your corsair spec 01 case. But in summer you may have to downclock the CPU.

Wow how did i miss his Ambient temp.
Sometimes 42c 107f aah walkin cooler time for me LoL.
yeah here in India there is no gurantee what to expect from weather atleast these days.
today the temps are cooler and better than other days but mostly stays around 36-38c.
I guess i will be using 2600 on auto boosts with stealth cooler.
