I am looking to purchase a Corsair H50 or H60 for my build. I only have a i5-4590, but due to my build (mini-itx) it isn't really possible to get a good air cooler in it.

So, my question. H50 vs H60, just want to know what will be best. Exclude price from the equation that does not matter to me for this.

Note: Mobo is an ASRock b85-m

Do you live in an exceptionally hot climate ? Otherwise the stock air cooler will serve fine adequately.

I find myself unable to recommend any CLC device but this should give you the relative performance

As you can see the H50 outperformed the H60 even on quieter setting by more than 4C

Other tests (this time w. version 2 of the H60) are more along what you'd expect

H50 < H60 < H70 < H80 < H100

I personally wouldn't use any of them- I'd choose a good air cooler for less cost and very similar performance (eg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608029). However, if you wanted to go this route, I'd say choose H60 or higher. H50's were the original model design and the least reliable and worst performing of all listed above.

it seems the difference would be better channeling in the copper cold plate as well as newer SP 120 fans. Go H60. If you want more precise control of fan and liquid temps then H80i. Has a multi colored led Corsair symbol on it if that turns you on.
