Corsair H55 Issue - Backplate

Hi guys

Firstly apologies if this is the wrong category.

I have an issue with my Corsair H55, I'm fitting it onto an MSI Krait Z97 and the backplate seems twisted. I've used the 1155 socket for all the pins on the black plate and are definitely all in the right place. I've read up on it and it seems to not be a big concern, is this correct?

Another potential issue that I find more of a worry, the foam stand off pads that are meant to be attached to the plate to secure it will be on top of some solders on the back of the board. If I tighten the cooler down I'm concerned it will put pressure on the solder, is that something to be worried about?

Hi, thanks for the link. I've checked that out before but it doesn't really mention anything about the plate on top of solder points on the board

You mean the backplate?

Yes apologies, the backplate. The foam pads are pushing the backplate away on one side due to the solder balls. If I tighten it all down I don't know whether the pressure would be equal/cause any problems
