Corsair H60 fan control?

Hey guys,

I recently purchased and installed the Corsair H60 [2013 edition] in my computer, after the the flimsy plastic bracket of my previous CPU cooler, the Arctic Freezer Pro 13, had split open on one side where the screw is attached and so was not completely attached to the CPU anymore, causing overheating problems on my CPU and shutting it down.

While it's doing a great job at cooling my CPU [idle temps 25°C, load temps 45°C], I can't get the fan to go at anything other than full speed [2000 RPM]. It's extremely noisy.

I'm on an ASRock P67 Extreme 6 Mobo, using a Fractal Design Define XL PC case, and the order of the cooling block is: PC Case>Fan>Cooling block. I've installed the fan so it will draw air out of the PC, as the rear of my PC is facing a radiator and all of my other fans, including the front fans, are also drawing in air and pushing it out towards the rear.

In the UEFI I have two options for fan control, listed under fan control CPU 1&2: [Full On], and [Automatic]. Choosing automatic, I can pick a level from 1 to 9, 1 being lowest rate, 9 the highest, but it doesn't seem to matter which level I select, the fan stays at 1900-2000 RPM. Any ideas?

Thanks for replying. Yes, it says as much in the rather flimsy manual, and obviously they should both be plugged in or else they wouldnt work at all.

So far, I've connected the 3pin pump plug to the 3pin connector on my motherboard labeled PWR_fan1, and the 4pin cooling block plug to the 4pin motherboard connector labeled CPU_fan1. I've also tried the opposite setup, the 3pin pump plug to the 4pin CPU_fan1 connector, and the 4pin cooling block plug to the 3pin PWR_fan1 connector. Neither setup made a difference. I still couldnt/cant regulate the fan speed.

there is one vacant 3 pin connector left, which is labeled CHA_fan3, so this didn't seem to me like it would be the connector to be using.

the 3pin CPU_fan2 connector is, and has always been, occupied by the standard 140mm case fan that came with the Fractal Design case, and is nestled in the top rear corner of the case at a slight angle. This fan currently operates at 500 to 600 rpm, and also doesn't seem to be affected much by my changing the level of the fan speed in the 'CPU fan 1&2' menu.
