I have had a h60 water cooling on my cpu since december, and i got a new cpu. But now when i try to remove the water block. It wont come off. Is this normal? What should i do?

Solution
Up to you. I don't recommend that you try to remove the cooler with the computer on though. You should shut it down and unplug the power supply power cable before working on it.

I didnt remove it yet. I tried to remove it with not to much pressure to damage anything. Picture wont help because it just looks like the water block is on top of the cpu. I think it might be the thermal paste that was pre applied on the water block. Temps seem to be fine, 27c idle.

Haha yeah i have done that. I just dont want to tug on it really hard to damage anything.

Yes, exactly.

Ok. Just confirming.

You can try a few things:
1. Try to gently twist the water block.
2. Failing that, try to reheat the CPU or use something like a hair blow dryer.
3. If there's a gap, try taking a syringe with 91% Isopropyl alcohol and squirt a bit into the gap. Let it soak a bit (5-7 mins) and try wiggling it again. If it's working, you can slowly reapply more.

Don't do #2 and #3 simultaneously.

Alright ill try that when i have time and ill let you no.

DO you also think i should heat up the cpu with prime 95?

Yeah thats what i meant. Heat up the cpu with prime. then switch it off real quick and try to remove it.
