Question Corsair H60x RGB ELIT, controlling the leds

I bought Corsair H60x RGB ELITE (getting it later today) can it really be true that i have to use a CORSAIR iCUE COMMANDER CORE XT Smart RGB Lighting and Fan Speed Controller to control the leds,turn them off ?

According to the manual for the 120mm AIO;

the lighting functionality is nullified if you don't hook it up to an ARGB source. Even if you were relegated to using the controller/hub, then you can set the color profile to 0(zero)'s in teh iCUE app.

If your motherboard has a 5V aRGB connection you can plug the Corsair into it to control the lighting through the motherboard software. If not then you would have to use iCUE.
