yesterday i got a corsair h75 for my i7 2600K got i installed but when i am looking at the readings on temp its almost the same as my cooler master stock cooler.. btw its OC 4.2.

maybe i have applyed it wrong, and when i say that i think maybe the paste isent sitting right?

some one help me please..

Could be the paste; there is a lot of difference in quality.
Also rule N°1 of applying paste: never apply too much.
Bare metal on metal is the best for conducting heat, the paste is only there to fill the air pockets. The ideal would be just the right amount to fill the air pockets, and no more.

Be sure to thoroughly remove and clean off the old paste.

there's in depth guides aplenty on how to do it right.

A strip down the middle would probably already be too much.
You just want to apply a little and spread it across the chip.
Then apply the heat sink and make some circular motions with a small amount of pressure, to make sure the paste finds its way into the irregularities in the metal, but the nice and smooth metal surfaces come into contact directly.

Ahhhh, got it. So apply a small amount on there and spread it around thinly across the whole surface. Take a "less is more" approach. Good to know as I'm getting ready to build my first comp.

Hey i used the pre applyed paste from corsair so dident realy apply.. just cross tighnt the screws.. but i think its okay.. amd getting 40 c with OC so its fine.. but thx for the fast answers guys and girls 😀
