Hi does any one know can you use the back plate and stand off pegs from the original H80 cooler ??? (NOT H80i or H80GT) AS I have the original H80 one that's noisy so can that just be undone from the board and the new one fitted in ???

Do I even use the Corsair back plate as Asus P9X79 MB (just read the board has its own plate ????)

I believe the mounting system has remained the same for some time now, and you would have to use the backplate for the AIO (not the motherboard's)
That being said, if your H80 is loud, the H80iV2 isnt going to be any quieter.

If you are worried about noise an air cooler would be better (and offer similar performance)

Its more its developed a kind of grinding noise even tho temps are good 27c-32c in general....(Intel 3930K running normal no OC) Before this grinding noise I was quite happy with it ........found out its still in Warranty so put in for a RMA in at Corsair for an exchange ......see what happens
