I've been watching some videos on the corsair h80i and I was wondering if the sata power for the h80i would go into the Sata x 6 on my PSU. I'm not very good with computers and was wondering if thats possible or not. My PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153172&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Gam3r01 what psu would you recommend? I only need 550w tops maybe 600w but I had that thermaltake one selected because I like the look of the cables like the black single wires but anyway what would you recommend? I would only like to spend $50-$60.

hmm I've heard about modular before and I would probably be ocd about the cables so the less is better but what is modular like does it come with the wires not attached and you plug in the ones that you need or?

Indeed we did...

Modular PSUs work fairly straight forward. They have ports identical to the ones on say your motherboard, and you simply plug in the ones you need.
Dont need 6 pci cables? Use 1

Ok thats pretty cool so you can persay "cut down" on the wires that you dont need so cable management is alot easier if theres a good modular PSU for $60 that would be great and btw I was looking at your specs and see you have the same GPU I'm hopefully getting and I was wondering whats the difference between the dual one and the single one? Don't they both have two fans on them or just the dual?

The only difference is dual BIOS. There is an extremely small jumper/switch on the back of the PCB that allows you to switch between bios setting. I have never used it, never plan to. It costed the same so I bought it (Free backplate too)

As for modular under 60, thats going to be a hard find. They typically start around 80-90 (The cable management is a royalty) It does help alot, and makes builds looks sleek. You can also get custom sleeved cables for most! But they do cost 30+ on top of what non modulars do. XFX TS vs XFX XRT

Personally its not necessary for me. It does make cable management much easier, and also looks much better in windowed cases.
If I had the money I would grab one. Then again, this is coming from the guy who buys a battery bank for his phone because I dont want to find an outlet.

+1 gamer...we are all lazy these days...I carry a portable cell phone usb charger cause I don't want to find the charger for the car at work....Honestly tho he's right...unless you have a windowed case the fully modular is not really necessary. Fully modular PSU are enthusiast grade and the price (regrettably) reflects it....if your doing a non-windowed case...I would stick with a semi since they are cheaper...however the choice is yours...if you have the money then go for it.

Ok my case is not windowed so the semi will be fine and I'm on a budget so the cheaper the better. Thanks for all the help guys.

Awesome, so the semi will come with all of the cords that I need for my build and I wont have to worry about ordering some special cable or something?
