I was looking to buy a three pack of the Corsair HD120's with the controller to increase airflow into my case. I was just wondering if the RGB would work with my MSI Z270-A-Pro because I have seen things that have said it doesn't and other things that have said it does WITH the controller. I was just wondering if anybody had a solid answer before I dropped $70 for fans to not even have the RGB work. Thanks!

Solution
Short answer: No.

Long answer:
While HD120 RGB 3x pack does come with RGB controller that can be used to control LEDs, there are no wires going directly to the MoBo RGB header. And your MoBo doesn't have RGB header to begin with.
But what Corsair RGB controller has is wire for external control. That is shown and explained here,

So say I get the HD120, if I just wired the controller (the three button one for speed, mode, and color) outside my case I would be able to control it that way, not too concerned with controlling it through the MoBo, as long as I can control it some way I'm cool with it.

Yes you can.

Do note that HD120 fans have 2x wires, one for fan control and another for LED control. The controller you get is for LED control while the fan needs to be plugged into the MoBo. You can then control the fan speed within BIOS and fan LEDs within the included controller.
