Hi everyone,

This past weekend I built a new gaming computer. The pc seems to be working fine with the exception of my Corsair headset. This is an odd problem for me because the headset will sometimes work completely, other times not at all, or sometimes the headphones will work but not the mic, and other times the mic will work but not the headphones (sound comes out of main speakers.)

I am running Win10 and made sure the settings are correct in Sound. There are no drivers for this, so there is nothing to update on that end. The PC case has a single spot for the headphone jack on the front of the case.

My hardware specs:
MSI Pro Z690-A wifi mainboard
Intel Core i5-12600KF
32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 ram
NZXT H510 case
Win10

EDIT
The problem seems to have settled on the mic working but the sound coming through the speakers on my desk.

The headset did include a splitter, but there is only the single plug to plug into on the case. Having a splitter does nothing for me if there is nowhere to plug them in.

Your motherboard has mic in and headphone jacks, try those. If the case has a single combo jack check the connection to the motherboard headers. Also test the headphones with another system or phone.
Sounds like a bad/loose connection. The headset should have a dual 3.5mm connection or splitter. Check that it's in tight on both the headset and the computer side and is in the right ports.

I have tried the headphones on my cellphone and they worked great there, so I know it's not them. I will have to crawl under my desk in order to check the pc. That means it will be a bit before I can do that as I'm not in the best of health (crawling under the desk is painful!) I'm gonna have to do it though because it looks like one of my case fans isn't hooked up.

Thanks for the help!
