I recently build a new rig.

I purchased a Corsair Hydro H115i since thats the last cooler I used in my last rig (built around 1.5 years ago) and it served me well.

So far its performing well IMO (Its mounted on a Phantek Evolv ATX Tempered Glass Edition with an i7 8700K) ...

Idle
29-34
Load
49-54

Im happy with it, but I was looking at the NZXT Kraken X62 and it looked nice so I ordered it. I havent installed it yet. I heard its quieter. Is this true? I the cooling the same or better than the H115i?

Has anyone had experience with both? Thoughts?

I will probably mount it today and do some test and give my own feedback, but I want to know if I should expect about the same or better cooling out of the Kraken (so I know if something is wrong if the temps are worse).

Thanks.

Don't beat yourself too hard. It's just an AiO - wannabe liquid cooler shinny toy. The are mostly outperformed by the decent air coolers in both cooling and noise departments.
People are mostly buying them because of the "wow" factor - read good marketing.
Some are buying them for the look or space restrictions - I assumed you are one of them.
Anyway, there is no 7C difference between stock and great thermal paste. Never seen more than 3-4C.
To improve the CPU temperature, it is better to have it as intake. Also have a look at fan speed and pump speed using their utility. it allows to adjust profiles according to your needs.

as you can see from the link above, they are coming from the same factory.
Same radiator.
Same pump and cold plate.
The differences between them are:
1. fans.
2. cosmetics in a form of lighting and plastic shroud on the pump.
The noise difference comes from fans. NZXT shipped with better fans. but for 150$ you can buy much better fans like Noctua NF-A14 or Corsair's ML 140 and still have 100$ left for cookies.

The cooler looks amazing, but Im not happy with the performance. The temps are 5-7 degrees higher. I thought they would be pretty even, if not better. Maybe I messed up while installing it? I have some good thermal compound coming soon so maybe I will re-install it to see if that helps.
