I have a m.2 nvme corsair mp500. My motherboard is a asus strix x370-f. It recognizes the ssd in bios but when ever i install win 10 from my uefi bootable usb it does not show up when csm is disabled. I have to re enable it and when i boot from it like that it shows a black screen for about 3 seconds then back to bios. I have updated my bios to version 1001 which I believe is the newest out at the time of writing this. I have installed win 10 from that usb many times before to a hdd and before I wiped my system i hooked up the m.2 and installed a couple games on it to see just how fast it was. (i was impressed). I would like to be able to boot from it

1. Can we assume you're now communicating on this forum with a different PC?

2. It's difficult to understand why you're unable to install Win 10 on the M.2 drive. Presumably you've fresh-installed that OS onto the M.2 drive and after it was installed did the system boot to the OS?

3. If not, did anything untoward occur during the Win 10 setup? What exactly happened?

4. At the time you installed the OS was the M.2 SSD the ONLY drive installed at the time?

5. Are you indicating you can boot to the Win 10 OS on a HDD in this ASUS system?

6. There shouldn't be a problem if the CSM is set to Auto or Disabled. I'm not sure why you indicate a need to enable that mode.

7. You're installing Win 10 with the MS Media Creation Tool (flash drive or DVD)?

1.yes i am on a different pc

2.I did a fresh install on the m.2 drive. After windows copying its files to from the usb bootable the pc restarts like it should, but after that it wont boot to the m.2. it shows it is there in bios. I get a black screen for about 3 seconds then back to bios it is.

3. no, win 10 install from the usb went smoothly. Everything went fine. went through the normal stuff like selecting drive and express installation or custom installation screen( i did custom).

4. yes i unplugged the sata cords from the motherboard from my 2 other hard drives. no other usb besides the bootable were in at the time. I took the bootable out once it was tome to finish installation from m.2 and it still did not work.

5.yes, at the moment i have a hard drive with win 10 installed. I have used a hard drive for a bootable since i have had my pc. The m.2 is used as game storage right now but i would like to boot from it.

6.i watched a couple vidoes on booting to an m.2 and they said to do this.

7. i am using a uefi windows 10 usb that i have used for multiple different systems on installing win 10 just fine
