I have a 256GB Corsair Neutron SSD that is about a year old (as is the rest of the computer) with Windows 7 on it as boot and a secondary 2TB WD Black for programs. Recently, my SSD often was not recognized on boot, it would go to BIOS and show my 2TB, but my SATA1 would say (empty). I have found a way to recognize it. I would have to go to SATA settings, change from AHCI to IDE, save and exit, let the computer reboot, and then it recognizes it. Go back into BIOS manually, change from IDE back to AHCI and save and exit and it will boot windows. Now, it is doing this EVERY time I reboot my computer, this is the only way for the computer to recognize it.

Its not the cables, I've switched them hundreds of times, reset CMOS, etc. Nothing works. Any ideas?

Hey there, Raptor05121!

Have you tried updating your SSD firmware?
I can suggest this link to explain you how to do it:
http://www.storagereview.com/how_upgrade_ssd_firmware
Which SATA port do you connect your SSD to?
If it is your boot drive, you should make sure it is connecting in the first SATA port (SATA 0).
If this doesn't help, I'd suggest to check for a firmware for your SAS controller or even your mobo BIOS update.
Those updates may incorporate a firmware for the RAID chip that might solve this constant annoying switching.

Keep me posted! Hope this helped. :)
