Can someone PLEASE highlight to me the main differences between Corsair CX, Corsair RM and Corsair AX power supplies. Advantages and disadvantages of one compared to another etc. I'm looking to buy around a 750w psu?

Help please :??:

Stay away from the RM 750. The secondary capacitors used in it are very bad, and known to fail easily. Also has bad heat issues that can lead to thermal shutdowns when pushed anywhere near rated capacity. Even though it does perform as stated with good output and excellent ripple, honestly with its failure rates, the CX is a better psu than the RM750. The AX is probably the best that Corsair brands, built by Seasonic, followed by the AXi, and HX, then TXv2.

For the price of those units, there are other options, Antec HCG-m is built by seasonic, HCG non-m by Delta, both excellent.

What makes the CX low end?

The internal parts used (budget level) are of a lesser quality than those used in enthusiast or prof level units.
Even the housing and soldering would be superior in enthusiast/prof level units.

As mentioned above sometimes even enthusiast level PSU's such as the RM series can be suspect.

Thank you very much! :)

I only have the XFX CORE 750 which is full wired / not modular at all. I own 4 XFX full wired power supplies though.

The XFX is good since it is made by seasonic.

The EVGA G2 is also a solid contender.

It just comes down to the price between the 2.

That's just a *tiny* bit to expensive, considering it cost more than my graphics card, cpu and mobo individually xD
