I was recently looking for a new power supply to my computer on an online store in this country (Norway). I had a pretty decent budget and I saw the RMx series power supplies. The question is, is it good/decent quality and is it worth replacing my current power supply which is a VS550 from Corsair?

Here is the power supply I found: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/rmx-series-rm650x-650-watt-80-plus-gold-certified-fully-modular-psu

Would this be an overkill for my system or will it fit pretty well with it?

CPU: Intel i5-6500
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo
GPU: MSI GTX Gaming 2G
Chassis/Case: Corsair Graphite 230T
Motherboard: MSI Z170A-PC MATE
RAM: Kingston Value DDR4 2133MHz 8GB 2x4GB kit

I use my PC mostly for games, and sometimes I like to mess around in Photoshop and watch some high quality videos.

The RMx is far higher quality than the VS series. 650 watts is likely more than you need but doesn't hurt to have for room to upgrade in the future especially your GPU. I am assuming its a GTX 960 or lower based on the 2G of VRAM.

So in short it is worth buying if you plan to upgrade, if everything works fine now I would say you can leave it alone, you won't gain any performance and while the VS series often has problems, seems like mostly a quality control issue, if it works ok for you you probably got one of the "good" ones.

Thanks for the help guys, I just have one more question:
What is the difference between the RMx and the RM series? Is the RMx better then the RM or is it the opposite?
Because in the store I usually buy stuff from, the RM for some reason is slightly more expensive.
I'm also wondering, I'm gonna probably have this build for a year or so before I start doing slight upgrades, can the RMx650 serve me for a year or so?
By the way, the GPU I have is a GTX 960, forgot to put it in.

RM original turned out to be flawed and with one exception was not very good PSU's, all the deficiencies have been fixed in the new replacements RMx and RMi lines and they are getting good reviews.
I have couple of older quality Corsair still running strong after almost 8 years.
