The RM750i has corsair link. That's the difference. Quality is the same. I'd stay away from it personally, I hear it's a tier 3 unit, and you're better off in the long run just spending the extra money on a better power supply. One good one I'd suggest is the Photon 750, it's also a tier 3 unit, but I consider it a tier 2, as I've never ran into a problem doing a high overclock on my 4790k. Right now it's 100 bucks, but if you wait, it'll probably drop to 90 or even 80 dollars, I got mine for 90.

EDIT: just price checked, you'd be stupid to buy either Corsair unit. The EVGA G2, a tier one unit, you can buy for 10 bucks less than the...

How about the Seasonic x750?

Welp, it's made by Seasonic, so there's a plus, it's gold efficiency unless my eyes aren't working right, so that's a plus, and it scored 9.5/10 on JohnnyGuru, so that's a giant green check mark. The only bad thing about it, is this:

"ever so slightly out of spec voltage spike on the 5VSB overshoot transient test" (quote from JohnnyGuru)

This was taken off the cons list of the PSU on JohnnyGuru and was thankfully the only con on it. So basically it had a small voltage spike when Johnny (at least that's what I think his name is) tested it. So overall great power supply, I still think you should go for the EVGA G2 though.

Really? Because as an actual owner of a Photon 750 I will tell you you're giving it less credit than it deserves. When I was looking for reviews on it, the people who actually owned one considered it tier 2, the people who haven't owned one and therefore can't prove anything called it garbage. It's been a phenomenal unit, and has handled everything I threw at it. And the JohnnyGuru verdict shows that points were deducted from value, stupid things like PCIe and CPU connectors not compatible, broken PCB (since only his PSU had one), and voltage regulation (which just determines life span of components), so nothing that could actually cause issues.

The Photon isn't in the same league as the G2 or the RMi. The G2 and RMi are both fantastic while the Photon is pretty meh compared to units at the same price. Like the G2.

I would put the RMi on the same level as the G2. Both in cable caps, both all Japanese caps, good fans, and very similar performance RM750i & G2.

While the Corsair is expensive, it's not something you should stay away from. I too would go with the G2 just for the price.

Tier list is flawed, you really shouldn't use it to recommend a psu. The RMI and the RMX are on par with the Evga G2 if you actually took some time to read reviews of them.. Also brand is meaningless when it comes to psu's. Evga has some crap psu's like the 400 watt nothing and the very questionable 750 watt B1 Nex.

The tier list is certainly flawed, but it gives a general idea as to what PSUs are good, and what PSUs aren't as good. That's why I usually I provide real links to the power supply ratings on JohnnyGuru, although I didn't this time 😛
