Corsair RMi series connections

Hi guys,

Looking to get a corsair rm650i psu and a corsair commander mini. The commander and the psu both have a usb connection however due to having an itx mobo i only have 1 usb 2.0 header free.

My question is can the psu connect to the commander mini with just the corsair c-link cable and still have full control/monitoring abilities, i.e is the usb on the psu necessary or just an alternative to the c-link cable?

You can buy a better PSU for the same price or lower like a EVGA G2 or Corsair RMx
A link to the PSU tom monitor stuff is a gimmick to pay extra for.

isnt the rm650i a upgraded version of the rm650x, digital control, better fan bearing?

No, the RMi is an digital version of the RM unit. Neither are the best quality, and the RMx series is easily the better series.

My bad then i was going off of the review of the RM750i on here which says that the Rmi is better to get than the Rmx, so is the psu guide on here not to be trusted or is this particular entry simply a blunder? maybe i missed something?

Information i was basing my "argument" for this psu can be found on the Pro's, cons final verdict page, first paragraph.

If this sounds argumentative it isnt meant to be just trying to establish whether or not there is information which i am not aware of.
