Hey folks! Just wondering if anyone can help me out a bit here - I'm getting mixed reports. From what I can tell, the Cooler Master 212 evo will not fit inside my corsair spec 01 case, but I'd like to try overclocking so I'd need a cooler that does fit and has similar performance. Would the cooler master t4 evo fit? I understand it's a little bit shorter than the 212 ... does anyone have any alternative suggestions?

Thanks a million!

I have this case yes, currently I'm only using the stock cooler with no overclock. I've fitted extra fans to the case and I'm getting decent temperatures - but I'd really like to overclock my cpu. It's the 4690k and I'd like to let it loose a bit!

This will definitely fit? The Spec 01 can be a bit misleading I know, I've seen some people manage to get the 212 evo to fit by sort of mounting it in a different direction. The official size for compatible coolers is 150mm.

not sure, check the dimensions. the spec 02 is a bit wider, and I have that one, my zalman cnps10x fited in there with lots of headroom.

usually the max height for the CPU cooler listed by corsair is wrong, you can add 3 mm to it. it's mostly the case! didnt say always 😉

Hmm, I hadn't really considered a liquid cooler to be honest. It seems like the h50, h55 and h60 would all definitely fit. I suppose I was really going for more of a budget cooling approach ... that h55 seems tempting though ... how big of an overclock could I realistically achieve with a h50 or h55 do you think?

It's a good cooler then? Are you getting a stable overclock with it?

idk but it With my cooler master seidon 120v Version 2 i got my i7 4790k at 4.5 at relatively safe temps the corsair h55 is better then the seidon. the reasons i wont reccomend the seidon 120v to you is beacause its loud but if you dont care about that at all its a cheap and good cooler.

i have that case and bought a hyper evo and it did not fit my case, but ive seen videos where they fit it but with spec-02. why not go with water cooling? its compatible with H55, H60, H75, H80i

Yeah I might end up doing that, I'll probably get a more stable overclock with liquid cooling anyway.

hey man, what cooler did you end up getting for your cpu, and if you did how did your overclocking go? i was really excited to get the h100i but then i found out that it does not fit so i think im going to get the h80i but im not sure i also have an i5 4690k :)
