Corsair Value Select actually overclocks?

I have 2x1GB OCZ Special Ops 800Mhz 5-5-5-15 overclocked to ~800Mhz 4-4-4-10. I added a 1GB stick of Corsair Value Select rated at 533Mhz CL4. I still managed to get all three sticks of RAM up to ~750Mhz 4-4-4-12. I found this to be very impressing for a Value stick of RAM to overclock almost 30%. Am I right to be impressed or is this normal? Also, is the small loss in speed, timing, and dual channel worth the extra 1GB?

EDIT: The additional 1GB of budget RAM increased my Windows Experience Index from 5.5 to 5.9. Isn't this based on speed, not size?

More RAM will certainly help. However, run Memtest86+ and Prime95 Blend test to make sure the OC on the RAM is stable.

The only way to know if it's worth it is to test it doing the things you built the machine for.
