Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4gb) not running on full speed with Ryzen

hey guys,

so i just finished my ryzen build and im running into this problem now. my ram is not running at full speed even tho its a 2666mhz it only reads 2300mhz in the motherboard and 1400mhz during idle times.

Ryzen 1700 stock speed
gigabyte b350 gaming 3
corsair vengeance 16gb (4x4gb)

Couple things: First, what does it show under the "memory" tab by "DRAM Frequency?"

Second, with 4 DIMMs, even per the specs of Ryzen boards, you won't get over 2400. I've heard of people hitting 2667 and in some rare cases higher but I couldn't get over the standard spec 2400 with 4 x 16GB personally with Trident Z 2800 memory.

You are running at 2661. You're all good. Multiply that DRAM Frequency by 2; that's your actual operating speed. Its not uncommon for it to read just below the RAM's rated clock speed (2661 vs 2666 in your case). For instance, my Intel based laptop shows 798.4 and I've got 1600MHz RAM.
