Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM not working - only half of memory is usable

Hello,

I recently bought a pair of Corsair LPX 32 GB RAM (16*2GB) that is not working with my system. I have tested both sticks of RAM individually and they work fine, but when I test the two sticks together, Resource Manager tells me that only 16GB of it (half) is usable, and that the other half is "Hardware Reserved". I have tried switching the combinations of RAM slots; specifically, I have tried 1 and 3, 2 and 4, 1 and 2, and 2 and 3. 2 and 3 would not boot because it got stuck on the Windows bootup screen, but all the others had the exact same result: only half was usable. Here are my vital specs:

CPU: Intel i7-6700K

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM, 32GB, 16*2GB

Mobo: Asus VIII HERO

OS: Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit)

BIOS: I'm not sure the exact version. I just updated it to the latest - that went successfully, but the RAM problem still exists.

I have already tried disabling maximum RAM in msconfig and resetting my BIOS settings.

Your operating system only allows for 16gb of physical memory to be used.

Windows 7 professional is the lowest version of WIN7 that will allow you to utilise the memory, so if you're running home or below, you're gonna have to change operating system.

Thanks! In the end, I switched to Windows 10, because it's more convenient (and free from the Microsoft download page). I wish Windows would've told me that before two or three hours of reseating RAM and finding new settings & configurations for the two sticks. Hopefully, this thread can help people with the same problem, though. Again, thank you very much.
