Hi and thank you for having a look.

TLDR: Bought memory, won`t boot

What i have is an Asus Sabertooth z97 mark 1, and want to install two 4GB Corsair memorys. They are listed in the QVL, and should work right off the bat.
The pc just won`t start, It either turns on then off, or if i reset the bios it just hangs at the memory test.
The mobo has some memory tests that I ran several times, the only progres being it will boot into bios with one memory board, but then hangs at the video card.
I have another Crucial memory with which i tested all the slots, and they are fine.
I did update the bios to the very latest version. Tried applying the XMP profile, nada. Tried upping the DRAM voltage, nada.

Any ideas? Thank you again for looking.

The chips are brand spanking new, but will try to clean them.

the dealer is good, but i just noticed on the intel specs, it says it suports 1333 and 1600 frequencies for ram, so i`m thinking xmp sets it to 1866 and thats why it doesn`t boot.
but that doesn`t make sense...

Hello... Pulling the MB battery will set the Bio's to Look for new memory settings and Disable XMP... it should then boot to a stock 1333 or 1600 speed, with good sticks... You can run faster memory at a slower speed... BUT it all depends on the CPU memory controller - Freq, and Chips used on the sticks as to what communication - Timings are needed - HAPPY to Boot every time.

Memory is a passive device and is at the Command of your memory controller operations... these timings/settings need to be Sync'd for fast data transfer... XMP settings are not always GOOD to use.
