Hi everyone, I just got the Pro 16Gb DDR3 and wanted to overclock it to 2400Mhz. It runs stable, I've tested it with memtest86 etc.

It runs at 12-13-13-36 at 2T at 1.6V @ 2400MHz. I was just wondering if this is safe for 24/7 use? Because the RAM is rated at 1600MHz at 1.5V.

Motherboard: Z97-AR with i7 4770
PSU: RM650 Corsair

Solution
It's hard to say.
Memory is similar to processors in the fact that some ICs are better than others.
Also like CPUs, RAM kits could be undercloked if there is a demand for that speed.
So you could have got a very good kit (silicon lottery) and could run at that speed without issues.
I would make sure to keep them cool though.

They seem pretty cool to the touch, I was just curious if running them at 1.6V for 24/7 use was safe?

Oh sweet, that's reassuring.

Nah 24/7 is just my worst worst case scenario. It's probably like 14hrs a day max. But thanks!
