Hi All,

I am new to computer builds and needed some advice, sorry if the answer is obvious.

I have GA-Z97X-Gaming G1 WIFI-BK, i7 4790k, Corsair H100iGTX, but just deciding on the ram.

First of all is this ram compatible?
'Vengeance® Pro Series — 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 DRAM 2400MHz C11 Memory Kit (CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R)'

http://www.corsair.com/en/vengeance-pro-series-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr3-dram-2400mhz-c11-memory-kit-cmy16gx3m2a2400c11r on the QVL the older CL10 version was but this one is not listed.

Also, I can get the following two for virtually the same price, 2400Mhz is slightly cheaper but didn't want to get a higher speed ram if it may cause some instability.

Vengeance® Pro Series — 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 DRAM 2400MHz C11 Memory Kit (CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R)

Vengeance® Pro Series — 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 DRAM 1866MHz C9 Memory Kit (CMY16GX3M2A1866C9R)

Would really appreciate any advice.

Solution
The 2400 sticks will be fine, it may require a slight OC of the CPU to run at 2400 (very slight maybe 4.2 at most). Think you'll be happier with the 2400 for the extra bandwidth ;)

Thank you, what if I want to underclock the ram to 1866mhz or 1600mhz with cl9. Is this possible?
