No, there won't be any performance difference. Heatsink won't be a problem either, as it is very rare for RAM to overheat. I have some gskill sniper 2400 CL10 and it won't even get warm.
And Gskill tridents are the best of the company, so it will perform great!

That would be the G.SKILL, but I'm trying to figure out if getting the Corsair for an extra $100 would be worth it other than the aesthetics. That much of a price difference almost makes it sound like there is more to it

Nope the main difference is aesthetics and the Corsair supports corsair link.
