I am building a budget gaming PC and was going to buy 2x4gb sticks of either Corsair XMS3 DDR3 ram or Corsair Vengeance ram.

Which is better? I am thinking of trying to overclock as well. Please let me know thanks.

The Vengeance have large heatspreaders, are big and bulky and do get hot a little faster.

Why not try G.Skill? Their RipJaws X will fit your budget. And please specify your CPU, GPU and MoBo.

Btw, Corsair are good RAM no doubt but their Vengeance is a big no from me. Tell me the budget for your RAM.

Only can spend like 90 dollars on ram.

I am going to be using a r9 280 Asus GPU, AMD 8 Core FX-8350 CPU, and I'm still trying to figure out what motherboard. I am thinking an Asus 970 m3+

$90 is enough for 8 GB RAM.

Also, here I'd like to add some points:

That CPU has 4 modules, each containing 2 cores, which share the same resources provided by that 1 module. All in all, their native RAM support is 1333MHz. 1600MHz/Cl7 is more than enough for this CPU.

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($90.99 @ Newegg)

Now why this specific RAM:

In RAM, the rule is, the higher the MHz/CL, the better. So this's the best you can get in this MHz.

Also, this CPU heats quickly, so you'll need an af cooler. And I've heard many instances of the Corsair Vengeance's heatspreaders coming in the way of the cooler. So this RAM solves that issue.

For MoBo, I think this one will suit you well:

Motherboard: ASRock 970 EXTREME4 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($89.48 @ OutletPC)

It got Crossfire support. And all the other standard options you need. I hope it helps :)

Should I just buy these G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB ?

Please respond to this:

Is this memory okay? http://www.neweggbusiness.com/Product/Product.aspx?gclid=CjwKEAjw9qafBRCRiYrL4-fpuFkSJACvocQ1UpCXmizmQqQtX3nRyRFcjuMZxNd-CpsVQ7b_FMtKDBoCZxjw_wcB&Item=9B-20-231-428&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleBiz&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleBiz-_-pla-_-Desktop+Memory-_-9B-20-231-428&ef_id=U@LrOAAABJ6nmGUq:20140812155428:s

it is 9-9-9-24 instead of the 7-7-8-24 that you linked.

The ones you linked are off better/higher performance? hmm... so I guess the timing aspect of the card doesn't really matter then.
