Cortana in application

Hey guys,
this might sound a little bit noobish, but still....
I managed to enable Cortana, but every time i try to use it (Hey Cortana) while i am in a game or something like that, it goes to desktop (i mean, main windows screen, right, like when you press windows button on your keyboard. Is there any way to prevent this? To use Cortana, like in background but to stay in game? Cuz, this kills whole multitasking aspect..

i think that is part of the appeal, you say name and she takes control of PC and asks you what you want from desktop. I can't find anything that is any help with this.

I don't use it as I don't have a microphone on PC and use a local account not attached to an email address. So not sure what it does all day.

I know that. But if i want to use it while gaming and i say "Hey Cortana", game goes into desktop. Is there any way NOT to go into desktop but stay in the game but also use Cortana, like in background? I mean, i know that antivirus can do the same when it detects something. So, any way to do something like prioritize one application over others?
