Cost of Purchasing Company Server

Hello everyone,

Our company would like to purchase servers as such:

- 5 High Performance Servers capable of at least 10TB traffic
- 1 500GB High Redundancy Database
- 50TB of block storage

Plus all other network equipment such as necessary routers and switches.

We were wondering how much these equipment would cost and how much it would cost to run them on a monthly basis. Please take note that this server will be connected online and used pretty heavily to serve our customers.

I recommend asking a company like https://www.ixsystems.com/ for consultation on the topic, you're asking all the wrong questions.

- 5 High Performance Servers capable of at least 10TB traffic
10TiB of traffic is not a useful metric for performance and is only an average of 101Mb/s 8 hours per day for 30 days. I guess 5 Raspberry pi 2s would satisfy this.

- 1 500GB High Redundancy Database
3 WD-Green HDs in RAID1 would satisfy this

- 50TB of block storage
25 2TB HDs in RAID0 would satisfy this

Of course there are a million other questions that will make a huge difference in regards to performance, uptime, and dataloss.

Talk to Fujitsu, Dell, HP, you'll need to factor in maintenance costs, network infrastructurer, software licencing, UPS, training etc etc.
