So I guess Cougar wants to fill that market space where "ain't no care for customize' shapes, ain't no care for price" people resides. But given the non-customizeable 600M is on par with the price and can well fill that market, 550M just doesn't seems to justify, or to be more particular, its price.

I don't know, whether giving people choice over sensor types (laser vs optical) at the same price actually makes any sense, but nonetheless, 550M is a good addition. Just needs the price to be lower.
